Kathmandu
Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal, it has traditional as well as modern setting consists of three cities of historic, cultural and political importance- Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Patan) and Bhaktapur (Bhadgaon). Covering an area of 218 sq. kms, the Kathmandu Valley is situated at 1136 m above sea level. There are seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the valley, including many temples monuments and Stupas. Pashupatinath, the most revered Hindu temple is also in Kathmandu.

Laying at the distance of 80 Km to the south of of Kathmandu there is no better place than Daman for a view of world’s highest peaks from the south-west of Dhaulagiri to the east of Mt Everest. On the Mountain highway known as Tribhuvan Rajpath and has a view tower fitted with a long-range telescope.

Situated 30 km east of Kathmandu is a scenic and ancient Newari Town. Here one� � can observe the lifestyles of the Newar communities and will notice the artistic wood craving which will not be found in any part of the world. This the the same ancient town from where King Prithivi Narayan Shah ( who united Nepal under one banner) camped with his army before attacking Kathmandu. This was in 16th century Ad. This place also offers the view of high peak of the western range of the Himalayas. Dhulikhel has a special beauty of it’s own kind.

Situated at an altitude of 2175 m above the sea level, 32 Km away to the east of Kathmandu it is one of the beautiful hill station with the mesmerizing view, offering the breath taking panorama of major peaks of eastern Nepal Himalayas including Mt. Muktinath Temple that holds a great religious significance for both Hindu and Buddhism lies on a high mountain range about 18 km north east of Jomsom at an altitude of 3749 m. Jomsom can either reach by trekking or flight from Pokhara from there one can go to Muktinath by pony trek but these days there tractor and bike in operation to the Muktinath which makes the journey shorter beside direct chartered helicopter can be arranged to Muktinath from Pokhara, it will just take one and half an hour to complete the trip.

The birthplace of “The Enlighten Of Asia” Lord Buddha. Situated 250 Km to the south west of Kathmandu. Lord Buddha was born in the garden of Nepal’s Lumbini in 623 BC. In the past Lumbini had attained great civilization and prosperity and there are many evidences of visits by Kings to this pious place. One such visitor was Indian emperor Ashoka in 249 BC during his visit he erected a grand monolith with an inscription to his visit to this sacred place. Several other places near Lumbini are linked with stories connected to Buddha and Buddhism. Lumbini has many new monasteries build under the aid of different nations. Lumbini is about 300 Km to the south west of� Kathmandu. Bus and flight to Bhairwa which is 22 km from Lumbini are available from Major cities.

Located South-Central Nepal, the Roya Chitwan National Park is Nepal’s first and most famous national park, covering an area of 932 Sq. Km. the park includes hill area of Shivalik Range covered by decidous sal forest. This park is the last remaining home in Nepal for more than 300 endangered Asian one horned rhinoceros and harbors one of the largest populations of the elusive and rare Bengal Tiger. It also provide ideal habitat for crocodiles, cobras kraits pythons, spotted chital, leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, rhesus monkey, gray langur mokey, wild dog, small wild cats, the white stokinged gour and many other smaller animals. For the bird watcher the park offers excellent possibilities with more than 450 species recorded. Park is easily accessible from Kathmandu being well connected by a national highway to Bharatpur and Sauraha. By road it will take 5 hrs. approx. and there is daily flight to Bharatpur� it’s just 30 minute and park is just half an hour drive from airport.

Situated at 400 Km west of Kahmandu, Bardia National park is one of the largest most unspoilt wilderness area in Terai. It covers an area of 968 Sq. Km. Being subtropical jngle the park is thickly forested by trees. Within park there are several open grassland known locally as ‘Phantas’. These are some of the last remaining grasslands. The provide shelter to the wide variety of animals like the elusive Bengal Tiger and there are more than 30 species of other mammals, such as Bears, Monkey Civets, Hyenas, Wild dogs, other Wild oar, Leopard, and Deer.� Crocodile, Masher fish and the Dolphin Cavort in the river water. More than 350 species of bird have been recorded.
To reach Bardia there are daily flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj from where it is a five ours drive to the park. October to April is the best season to visit the park.

click for more...Koshi Tapu Wildlife Reserve
Gazetted in 1976, this reserve lies on the flood plains of the Sapta-Koshi in Saptari and Sunsari districts of Eastern Nepal. It covers an area of 175 Sq. Kms.The reserve offers important habitat for a variety wildlife. The last surviving population (about 100 individuals) of wild Buffalo or Arna are found here. Other mammals found here are hg deer, wild deer, spotted dear and blue buck also endangered gharial crocodile and gangetic dolphin have been recorded in Koshi river.
Koshi Tapu is easily access from Kathmandu being well connected by a national high ways. There are daily flights from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and road connected to national highway.
